Thrive Equity Consulting (TEC) was born from lived experience — in movement spaces, community gatherings, grassroots initiatives, and businesses doing life-changing work with limited support.

Founded by Iyeshima Harris, a longtime nonprofit leader and advocate in the food justice and urban agriculture movement, TEC was created to help mission-driven businesses move from survival mode to sustainability. After over 15 years of working in program development, advocacy, executive leadership, and coalition building, Iyeshima saw a pattern: powerful grassroots businesses struggling not because of a lack of vision, but a lack of tools, systems, and trusted support.

As someone who started in the nonprofit world at age 14, Iyeshima understands the challenges from the inside. She's witnessed how poor infrastructure, inconsistent evaluation tools, under-supported staff, and limited digital access can stall even the most passionate efforts. With degrees in Political Science, Sociology, and Nonprofit Management, she built TEC as a practical, justice-rooted response.

Today, TEC is a team of mission-aligned collaborators who bring experience in business operations, youth development, financial management, trauma-informed counseling, and storytelling. Together, they offer hands-on support for businesses doing work at the intersection of equity, healing, and community transformation.
